Maybe wrong, and hope I am. But it has been widely reported he had issues before being captured. As in just walking out of Camp (solo) only to be captured.

Based on the following, I would go so far as to surmise that this administration did NOT exchange one 'captive' American soldier for 5 very dangerous Afghan GITMO 'detainees'...rather, this administration freed 6 dangerous Afghan jihadis under the auspices of concern for our troops as damage control from the VA scandal which has already resulted in administration casualties (Shinseki,Carney).

I agree, a lot of lives were put in danger trying to 1. Initially find this guy. 2. find this guy for these last 5 years. 3. Go get this guy. I'm sorry for his family, but i have no sympathy for this guy. He walked off his post during war time in hostile territory. We expended millions of dollars and put hundreds of lives in danger. Yet we leave one of our marines to rot in a Mexican jail for an accidental violation. Our administration releases 30 thousand of their criminals onto its own citizens. I'm just disgusted with the whole bunch.
