Move to defeat House majority leader: I agree with much of what the tea party stands for and many of the efforts of leaders within it to elect conservatives. The tea party, however, is not one group; it is thousands of major and minor groups across the nation, and it is not possible to agree with all of them or for all of those groups to agree with each other.
Some Virginia tea-party groups are leading the charge to oust House Majority Leader Eric Cantor from his Seventh District seat. These groups have chosen David Brat, a college professor who appears to lean more toward Ayn Rand than either traditional or social conservatism. Brat was once an appointee of former Democrat Gov. Tim Kaine, although that does not automatically make him a liberal. Social conservatives will find a rather lofty but vague pro-life statement listed last among issues at his Internet site. Many of his other positions seem to be libertarian in nature, which makes sense as many tea-party groups are moving in that direction.
The biggest tea-party accusation against Cantor is that he is too establishment. The fact that he can move jobs and investments to his Seventh District seems to be a liability to him with tea-party members. It is, in essence, the tea party saying: The fact that Eric Cantor is the second most powerful man on Capitol Hill and can bring jobs and benefits to our district is proof he is too establishment and we need to get rid of him.
I appreciate a lot of what the tea party does, but in some of the groups there is a real lack of understanding of the Constitution that is waved around at meetings, when it comes to the duties of congressmen.

what a dolt....Cantor is in favor of open borders (how else to describe amnesty). He crapped all over sequestration by reducing expenditures a mere .03%. He has been in DC toooo long. His expiration date is long gone. Time for him to go
* “ - - - Cantor is a solid conservative
* who understands that in the end Republicans in Congress cant shut down the government
* without horrible results
* for the nation
* and for the GOP.
* He gets what spending cuts he can
* while standing for both the economic
* and social conservative agenda.
* But he is not going to lead the GOP into the suicide mission of government closure
* which many,
* but not all,
* tea-party activists favor.
* Government Is Not God
* PAC, of which I am chairman,
* continues to endorse Leader Eric Cantor. - - - “
So goes the conclusion of Willam Murray’s article for this thread, that I have broken down into segments to aid discussion.
There is no mention of the raw hatred of the Obama-Boehner-Cantor Amnesty for the 11 to 30 million invasion by Illegal Alien Invaders from Mexico being rammed down our throats just like they did Obamacare!
Weak Willy M. twice mentions what a sissy he is when Congressional Republicans FINALLY tried to say NO! to the “Fundamental transformation of the United States of America”, and then Weak Wiily scolds Republicans for daring to stand opposed to the Tyranny of Obama and the Obama Democrats.
The Finest Hour of the Congressional Republicans ended at the moment that Boehner and Cantor caved-in to the Obama Democrats.

Now we are engaged in the resultant take no prisoners battle to permanently rid the US Congress of the Doormat Republicans who caved in to the Obama Democrats in 2013.
The battle will be shorter in the US House, as all Members are up for re-election.
The longer battle for the US Senate will be much more enjoyable because of our eventual victory over the generations of Democrat Rot and Infection that has turned the US Senate into a Labor Union Board for the Federal Welfare Entitlement Plantation to be used to buy votes for “both” political parties.

To those who read this and are opposed to the Congressional Doormat Republicans, here are a few things that will help rid Congress of these spineless, Doormat Republicans:
* Never contribute time or money towards the RNC, PAC, or another entity that could directly or indirectly be of benefit to a local or National Doormat Republican.
* Do directly contribute time and money to local and National candidates who have proven that they will not cave-in to Obama Democrats.
BTW, Weak Willy M., “Chairman of PAC,” - - - - - - - BRING IT!

Bump
Too bad we can’t Primary out Karl Rove from FOX News.
Cantor is a Boehner mini-me.
Indeed. Cuck Fantor, and his amnesty.
Since when is it a congressman’s job to bring goodies to his district?
Cantor has a staff of seven in his congressional office and a staff of 30 under him in the leaders office.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
What the hell? A total of 37 staff members? There was a day that Presidents didn’t have that many staffers.

The fact of the matter is the world press especially from the UK was reporting that the House republicans were winning when they were standing in solidarity to ***defund Obamacare***.
Yes to repeat, the world press said the republicans were winning.
Now who caused the loss? It was Boehner and the republican establishment. And as soon as Boehner caved the press started in with the lie that conservatives were defeated in trying to ***shutdown the federal government*** when in fact the conservatives offered to fully fund the federal government minus Obamacare.
When the loser surrenders, the victor writes the history.
Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy are a disgrace.
Storm the palace gates!!! Replace the RINO with the Professor!!!
It is called embezzlement: taking money from the general fund to use for one’s own purposes.
Cantor support this. What else do you need to know?
Ayn Rand is pro-Freedom. This author likes it that Cantor brings business into his congressional district. Is that really the role of a Member of Congress? How does he bring business in, if not through some crony capitalism scam?
And being pro-Freedom means you can have your own opinions on whether to be a social conservative or not. No details here. But if you get the government out of almost everything, then it doesn't matter what your opinion as a representative is, because it won't matter. Freedom.
Cantor is being primaried by Dave Brat.
I often forget how literal some Freepers are.
It would send a great message if CANTOR WAS DEFEATED IN THE PRIMARY AND DAVE BRAT COULD USE SOME LATE DONATIONS
okay?
This author may think he one of the most influential conservatives on the planet but he doesn’t know jack about this race.
No democrat filed to run for the VA-007. Therefore, the primary is THE election. Dave Brat won’t need the establishment support in November BECAUSE NOVEMBER DOESN’T MATTER IN THIS CASE!!! Good Lord, if you’re going to pontificate, at least get your facts straight.
I went by Brat’s campaign office last night. They have a very good source who says Cantor’s team is *really* worried about losing. I believe that. My evidence is the endless barrage of slick, glossy mailers that I have been receiving on a daily basis for the last two weeks (They are probably costing $2 per to mail to the 7th district voters). Frankly, anecdotally, I think that is pissing people off. He is spending boatloads of money on TV and radio. Why would he if he wasn’t worried? He would save that money to dole out to his favored minions if he thought he was safe.
Cantor’s shenanigans on the Stock Act are beyond the pale. He and his wife are making thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars insider trading. Martha Stewart went to jail for less.
His immigration position, whatever it is today, has already been discussed upthread. I will say, today he may be against amnesty. Tomorrow, he will be for it because the Chamber of Commerce wants it for the cheap labor.
The one thing to look at regarding Cantor’s position is how the US Chamber of Commerce feels on any given issue. Cantor’s votes track almost 100% with their positions. It doesn’t matter what the people of the 7th want - it’s all about what the Chamber wants.
I have met Dave Brat several times. He seems solid to me and I’m a hardass. I will be voting for Dave. I have donated money (and I urge everyone to do the same - every penny helps)and I will be out door-knocking this weekend. I’d really rather be sitting by the pool but I’ll work to term limit Cantor. If Cantor loses on June 10th, it will be seismic. It’s VERY, VERY doable. And Cantor knows it.
Sorry, I can’t read minds.
And you are right, Dave Brat could use every penny people can send.
I think you mean the US Chamber of Crony Capitalism
I stand corrected! ;)
