NORRIDGE, Ill. (CBS) Less than a day after telling graduates they would not receive their diplomas until they apologize for tossing their caps in the air despite being told not to a suburban school district has reversed course.

Sounds like assault to me
“Um, I don’t think even people outside the bubble expect to get a scratched cornea at a graduation ceremony.”
Sh!t happens. This has been going on at least 50 years since my graduation.
If you don’t feel comfortable wear safety glasses or don’t go...
Or charge them with assault
Sunds like an accident to me.
No one ever expects a scratched cornea...
They might replace the mortarboard toss with a High School District Superintendent toss.
If they all launched their hats like missiles at school officials, how long would it take to ban them?
The piece of paper you get that the call your diploma is just a piece a paper. Your final transcript is the only thing a college or employer should ever want to see. That is the document that proves you completed the requirements of the school.
I did a search for "razor edged mortarboard" but found nothing. Might be a business opportunity.
Well you know those caps are black, and of course tossing them might be construed as a symbol of white privilege tossing black people aside so that black people don’t get anything. That might offend people. So, we can’t toss black caps.
some of these caps are actually “assault caps.” In the right hands they can be deadly. There was a character in a James Bond movie who used an assault cap. He could cut your head clean off.
Yes, Oddjob in Goldfinger:
Some of these folks can’t wait for the Zager and Evans song to come true. I wonder if they ever try to consider who will be at the controls of all the devices that make it unnecessary for them to move or do other “dangerous” activities...
