This is just Mexican hatred and revenge on the gringo, has nothing to do with gun smuggling.
They know he isn’t one. A real gun smuggler would have hundreds of guns and tens of thousands to pay them if he gets caught. He would walk within minutes, right after the Police Chief had dinner with him to talk about their business.
Its obvious Tahmoorhessi is being singled out by corrupt Mexican locals because he's American. He hasn't been released after all these weeks either because the central powers in Mexico are too weak or Mexicans generally approve of his treatment.
Either way, why the HELL would we allow more people from this sewer up here?

As to this particular situation, the Mexicans claim they have video of him driving into Mexico 3 times that same day. If this is true then maybe “we” are not getting the whole story. I have my doubts they have such evidence, its time they produce it or cut him loose.
This is probably tied to our states locking up “their” citizens. Would not doubt its some backdoor scheme of the WhiteyHut to declare Open Borders.

Exactly. If this kid’s Mom had $50,000 cash for the judge he would already be back home.
Mexico has something like 50 Consulates in this country and acts as a shadow government interfering in our affairs everywhere.
A real American President would simply revoke their status and tell them to pack up and go home. And that’s after they release the guy. Once that happens then maybe we review whether 5 or 10 of those “Consulates” (read: occupation outposts) get to re-open.
And the foreign aid goes to Zero. That includes the tens of billions we pay for their citizens here.
