Following President Barack Obama's speech today at West Point, the UK Daily Mail reported "tepid applause and a short standing ovation from less than one-quarter of the audience upon his introduction." In a CNN video clip found at Mediaite, Jim Clancy noted that Obama did not sound like a commander-in-chief speaking to his troops. He further observed: You heard the reception; it was icy."
The video posted at the White House's web site doesn't include the reception Obama received when he was introduced. There's a reason for that. The first 14 seconds of a Reuters video clip (HT Nice Deb) shows, especially for those of us who recall the enthusiastic receptions George W. Bush routinely received, that describing it as "tepid" may be an overstatement:
I hope there is a video showing those who stood up. A future administration would be wise to purge them from the military. (For national security reasons, of course)
During his 36-minute speech, Obama made a total of 144 first-person references. Narcissism on steroids.
Costello: Now who’s got it?
Abbott: Naturally.
PAUSE
Costello: Look, if I throw the ball to first base, somebody’s gotta get it. Now who has it?
Abbott: Naturally.
Costello: Who?
Abbott: Naturally.
Costello: Naturally?
Abbott: Naturally.
Costello: So I pick up the ball and I throw it to Naturally.
Abbott: No you don’t, you throw the ball to Who.
Costello: Naturally.
Abbott: That’s different.
Costello: That’s what I said.
Abbott: You’re not saying it...
Costello: I throw the ball to Naturally.
Abbott: You throw it to Who.
Costello: Naturally.
Abbott: That’s it.
Costello: That’s what I said!
Abbott: You ask me.
Costello: I throw the ball to who?
Abbott: Naturally.
Costello: Now you ask me.
Abbott: You throw the ball to Who?
Costello: Naturally.
Abbott: That’s it.
Costello: Same as you! Same as YOU! I throw the ball to who. Whoever it is drops the ball and the guy runs to second. Who picks up the ball and throws it to What. What throws it to I Don’t Know. I Don’t Know throws it back to Tomorrow, Triple play. Another guy gets up and hits a long fly ball to Because. Why? I don’t know! He’s on third and I don’t give a darn!
Abbott: What?
Costello: I said I don’t give a darn!
Abbott: Oh, that’s our shortstop.
I remember how Sadat got it.
A few years ago, I was embarrassed to witness Obama speaking at another Military graduation. I couldn’t look at him; I just kept my head down the whole time as he talked about himself.
Malignant narcissist. As if everybody came to hear HIM speak about HIS bottom line rather than watch with pride their sons and daughters graduating from West Point.
The stark difference - I’m thinking the Narcissist-in-Chief is FURIOUS tonight and wondering how he can get even with the cadets.

This is news? Since when has the AP ever been a “news” organization? The proper moniker should be the A-—hole Press, only something we can anally report is newsworthy.
Reminds me of the old Stalinist tactic of brushing out purged people from official photographs.
144? He is truly sick.
It sounded like a political speech not an inspiring graduation speech.
Obama talked a lot about international law. Since when did the US Constitution become second to that? These grads swear to protect the Constitution not international law.
Watching both of them sickens me, so very sad. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
36 minute speech? Wow. At that point it’s not a speech. It’s a lecture.
Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy.
2010 - Baraq Obama
2011 - Michelle Obama
2012 - Joe Biden
2013 - Chuck Hagel
2014 - Baraq Obama
Embarrassing.
Only if you’re using White people’s math, you racist.
I heard on Levin he was complaining about the Law of the Sea a Treaty not being ratified in order to attend to matters in the China Sea. How does ceding power to the UN help the US? It doesn’t.
West Point grads know that if they are sent into combat, the ROE supported by Obama May get them killed or courtmartialed.
