Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. It is just rodeo Houston, Texas style. Regardless of the motivation, this group has been able to fund lots of college scholarships to kiddos who would otherwise not be able to attend. Kids who grow up on a farm put a lot of time, effort and money into their animals and it was awesome to see at least some of them get rewarded.

Re the BBQ you must be talking about the cookoff - just one of our favorite parts of the rodeo, although I thoroughly enjoyed the one trailride I was on.

Houston does have a lot of diversity in entertainment from the rodeo on one end of the spectrum to sports in the middle and the symphony and ballet on the other, as well as a lot of great restaurants. But, thanks to Mayor Porker, we won’t be participating in any of it in the future.
