even though it was a crime when an aide in the Bush administration leaked the name of part-time agent Valerie Plame.

No it wasn't. Fitzgerald cleared everybody from wrongdoing. Plame wasn't even covert. He got Scooter Libby for allegedly lying under oath.

Colin Powell’s deputy Richard Armitage was the leaker. Powell never told the president, the Attorney General, or the public what Armitage had done. He sat silent as the investigation played out and as Karl Rove and Libby were ensnared by the investigation, a “crime” for which Armitage should have been prosecuted.

“The AP calls it an “embarrassing flub” even though it was a crime when an aide in the Bush administration leaked the name of part-time agent Valerie Plame.”

As stated in the above post Scooter Libby did not leak a thing. They knew the real leaker all along and on top of that she was not covert at the time. So that statement in the artical is patently false.

As to the lying it was a case of the memories between Scooter and the man from NBC who’s name escapes me at the moment. Of course they sided with the NBC man. Hardly anything Earth shattering.

The AP calls this a flub because democrats did it, but when Bush was president the AP called it a crime because a republican was supposed to have done it is what the writer means.

Simply pointing out the double standard of the AP.
