It will be interesting to see how it goes here. At the height of the GM plant closures Lansing was heavily trending toward a landscape tawdry at best, WWII-era London at worst. The cleanup of the GM properties is slow and ongoing but the downtown stadium district, where the casino is headed, has been very steady.

What is the state of the casino environ in Detroit? I have no idea, to be honest. Except for Tigers games, a few trips to Belle Isle, and field trips to the museums, I haven't tooled aimlessly around the city in decades.
