Yesterday I noted that the tea party in big states and national elections faces a challenge both in money and support when facing competent, mainstream Republicans. To put it bluntly, there arent enough Republicans who think that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is a sellout or that the shutdown was a good idea to sustain the tea party in its current form. Ive suggested that it, in essence, disappears as a distinct subset of the right and, like most insurgent movements, will be soaked up by the larger political entity, in this case the GOP. But are there other things the tea party could do?
As we will see tonight in Texas, in electoral politics the tea parties may still have victories in state elections in red states. Thats not a big sandbox, but it isnt nothing. Reuters reports, In the race for Lieutenant Governor, Tea Party favorite State Senator Dan Patrick took 41.5 percent of the vote in the four-candidate March primary, and is favored to win on Tuesday. The three-term incumbent, David Dewhurst, finished with 28 percent. The run-off race for state attorney general features a similar showdown, after Tea Party-backed State Senator Ken Paxton took 44 percent of the primary vote and State Representative Dan Branch won 34 percent.

As a Tea Partier, I’ve been eagerly awaiting some advice from the Washington Post on how to better blend in with the big government wing of the GOP.
That's what the GOPe seem to think, that conservatives have no place to go and will vote for them. It's why Romney lost, and it's why they may not win the Senate, because conservatives have caught on to their little game. We are tired of voting for Democrats who pretend to be Republican but who fight hardest against conservatives and work to shut them out of the party. We will fight within the party when possible, but outside the party when necessary. And many, many of us will stay home (or even vote Democrat) when the GOPe shoves guys like McConnell, Cornyn, Graham and Cochran down our throats.
Hey Jimbo, I love that term “Rove’s RINO’s”.
Have not heard much out of Rove regarding his home state elections.
Wonder why?
Bring on the USIP.
Fight back, folks! My fellow tea partiers better get out today in Texas and vote!! Take a neighbor or coworker with you! Definitely vote for Paxton. Know the family well - the kids are being brought up right in their household. Christian, praying, serving, country-honoring Americans.
GO VOTE!!
Quit hiding in the shadows. Get back out in the streets. Get back on local TV. Get loud, get visible, get relevant again. Organize!
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Jenny, like minded folks make up the “Tea Party” no headquarters, elected leaders or conventions. When an individual gets the support of this like minded group it’s because they reflect the opinions and have a history of voting or supporting the conservative views that brought about the movement. We were always there.
The hoped for survival of our country as it once was is what wins or looses.
We aren’t going anywheres and that includes being absorbed by any political party. We are all individuals. It’s time you learn this.
VOTED!!!
Excellent Friend!
Exactly!
Can’t these weasels see what’s happening in their beloved Europe? Europe is moving right. They see the results of progressivism and they are starting to wise up. Let’s hope it doesn’t take America another 20 yrs. to do the same.
Tea Party needs to reform—How?
A) Form the Sons of Liberty to picket and march and face down Union Thugs. Burn people in egffigiy! Face down racists Too.
B) Form a Media Newspaper (or a print one) to address their issues—do not depend on the MSM Propaganda.
C) Form a new Party— like UKIP but here it would be the Liberty Party. We need a magnetic leader (Sarah P.?)
D) Form a new Media—a Network to the right of Fox—
E) Form a Hollywood studio—to make Conservative Movies about American History and True American Values and religion.
That's the best and funniest line that I have read all day. Good one dead.
