There are anti-FReepers that have some, um, different views. There are also paid trolls that stir dissension. FR is a prime target.

FR has always been about Conservatives. It's not a Republican site which angers some.

Also it's not about free speech. This site is about backing the best conservatives around. If a poster is going to push the MSM medias view and they swallowed the Kool-Aid then they don't belong here.

Finally I'd say to trust your own experience here and NOT someone elses. :-)

I love that. My values have always stayed the same, at least in the last thirty years. But as I stand still, I see the Republican Party drifting away from me.

I guess that's why I feel so comfortable here. Lots of like-minded folks. It's kind of like being in a place that's the US again. That's what I'm hoping to move to, even though it probably doesn't exist anymore. But anyplace has to be better than California!

I can certainly do that as far as my limited knowledge is concerned. That's why I've been staying here and have been getting my news primarily from this site as well. I don't know the past history of the site personally, and have just heard from other people that I surmise are telling the truth. But in the long run, that doesn't really matter. That is certainly no indication of future events. I see this site as a rock solid conservative place to be. If that ever changes, then I will reevaluate my opinion at that time ;) (that said, on the other hand, it is always easier to trust a place/person if they admit to past wrongdoings and say they won't do it again. Maybe this has happened here, I honestly don't spend enough time here to have read even one 1/1000ths of what is available! I think one could spend hours each day here and never get bored or run out of new material or get tired of the intelligent and diverse conversations.)
