Although being POTUS definitely has its challenges, Dr. Carson’s question about a doctor being president leads me to question if he aware of the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.
As a side note about Obama, given the federal government’s limited powers, in peacetime the Founding States had arguably intended for presidents to spend most of their time on a golf course.
Of course that actor had years of negotiating experience as president of the actor's guild and spent ten years for G.E. going around the country listening and speaking about the issues of the day leading up to the great "A Time for Choosing" speech ("we have a date with destiny") in 1964. And it helped that he put his beliefs successfully into practice for eighth years as Governor of California. More that just "actor" on his resume.
These days, apparently all you have to be is President of the Harvard student body for a little while, fully indoctrinated in Communism and ready to fool the gullible with slick (and meaningless in Obama's case) slogans like "hope and change". Sadness.
No, let us not do that, but neither should we disqualify anyone otherwise qualified because he happens to share a degree of melanin with the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
One thing for sure, having career politicians who have never woked in the private sector or made a payroll sure hasn’t worked out very well for the Country.
I'm also highly suspicious of these emails from "PAC's" using the Ben Carson name asking me for money when there hasn't been indication from him running. It goes right along all those "Gingrich Productions" emails and the talk about him running every four years.
A lot of the lesser knowns make money off running for office by pocketing the money in "consulting" without running an actual campaign.
And yes, I know Bush was a governor, but he still was in over his head.
Personally I’d like to see a team run
One as president with his VP
And naming his team of cabinet members who fully support and have ideas how to clean up each branch. The VP should be well know to congress and serve as liaison there
Names of other members are sort of self evident
Each would have experience in their field and have ideas on what each needs to streamline the department making it efficient or turning its responsibilities back to state controll

Who is choosing Carson based on the color of his skin? I recently sat 10 feet from him and heard him speak and he has more sense than most of those already in office, no matter what their skin pigment is.
We need more citizen statesmen. And the fact that he is NOT a lawyer is a good sign, imo.
George Washington didn’t serve as mayor or governor. Granted, he was a military leader.
bj clinton was a disbarred lawyer, does that count?
Dittos for Carson. Let Carson run for the Senate or Govenor first, then we'll talk.
Yes, but the opposite holds true as well. I don't want to see people run for President after years in the private sector. It's rare for even businessmen to win the Senate.
I would like to see Carson as the head of HHS, I would actually like
to see NO HHS but if we do NOT rid ourselves of this entire Dept Dr.
Carson would be perfect to head it!!!
After all these decades, wouldn’t he be something of a carpet-bagger if he returned to Detroit just to run for office?
But I agree, he should run and serve at an appropriate level first.
He actually shows his lack of understanding of the political system to ask that question in the first place.
I also feel that way about Herman Cain—I know he did run for US Senate previously, but losing doesn’t give one a ticket for promotion—and Allen West—one term as a Congressman with a mixed voting record and failure to win reelection doesn’t qualify one for a double promotion either.

I’m glad to have blacks in the party and taking leadership roles, but their skin color doesn’t immediately qualify them for the presidency.
Same with Condi and Colin by the way.
Partly I want campaign, governing, and executive experience in my presidential candidate, and partly I simply want an extensive voting record to judge them on.
I don’t go by rhetoric alone.
Because zero as senator,or bj clinton/carter as governors really made them well prepared for the position of potus .... not.
