Scores of armed pro-Russian separatists massed outside the walled home of Ukraine's richest man, Rinat Akhmetov, in the eastern city of Donetsk on Sunday as Ukrainians voted for a new president.
The rebels, roundly denounced by Akhmetov, have prevented voting in Donetsk, an industrial hub of a million people, and other parts of mainly Russian-speaking eastern Ukraine, where they have declared "people's republics" outside Kiev's control.

Extremely sad that people are actually getting killed. In twenty to twenty five years these borders will have little significance. Economics will trump politics. Between 1870 and 1914 before the tragic events of the 20th century ended it, the Russian-German economic sphere was one of the world’s most dynamic and prosperous. It is destined to be revived. Germany, frustrated by its non productive, debt laden EU “partners”, has been orienting toward the boundless resources and potential of Russia. The irony is that Poland, Ukraine and Belarus sit on that axis and will prosper as well. In fact it will be Central Europe that will become the economic and military balance to the Chinese. The old West is in decline.
I think you are right as long as the old rivalries between Germans and Russians can be controlled.
Or basically Putin voted the muslim off his island, too bad for the muslim, next stop London where he will buy his scribblers by the dozen and get the American Enterprise Institute to declare him a good muslim and Putin a bad “racist white devil authoritarian who is worse than Hitler.” Man today’s propaganda is horrible.
I'm seeing more of a 1984 type split among trading partners. The separation will be economic. "East Asia" goes to "Eurasia", add the "Caliphate" and the EU goes to "Oceania".
