I wish I had Jack Levin’s (Criminologist) exact words but I saw him interviewed a few years ago and he stated in his experiences people look for ways to find women innocent in these instances when the same approach doesn’t hold for men who commit similar acts.
Right.
People look for ways to excuse a mother of responsibility.
They carefully avoid seeing similar excuses for a father.
