I tend to believe in Col West’s savvy. I am therefore lead to believe he has spoken directly with someone who was in Benghazi on 9/11/2012 and has posed the information he got as ‘third hand on a plane ride’, in order to protect the source. Think about it, if the letting out of the info garners a big uptick in interest, the source could then logically assume that coming forth with the truth would have a large hunk of the American people behind him/her and not leave them out on a limb or high and dry for picking off by the deadly regime in power.
Aside from the govt being able to figure out who this informant was in about 5 minutes and 1 phone call, what about other people on the plane? Even in 1st class there isn’t much you don’t hear of others conversations. Unless this was a private jet, non-commercial, someone had to have overheard parts of a 2 hour conversation.
I think the likley scenario, not wishing to call West an opportunist and liar, is that someone gave him a story, the plane situation is made up.
