That was my first thought as well. We’ve seen this movie before.

A stroll like this is a psychological coping mechanism. He’s walking away from the box he’s in, if even for a while to get out from under the mounting pressures and complexities of his problems. Its only a brief, momentary escape.

But the hard reality is he can’t run away. Deep down, he’s also looking to come across someone who will give him some sympathy. Like Nixon, Obama is cornered and he is feeling the heat.

He knows quite well that any more bad news (e.g., another scandal, another exposed lie, another diplomatic blunder, an economic setback, a sudden drop in the stock market, etc.) might be the last straw for him and his party.

The country is tiring of this president. Voter fatigue is setting in for sure.
