The TSA has issued a solicitation requesting 24 million rounds of .357 SIG duty ammunition over a five year period, prompting fresh questions as to whether the federal agency is planning to arm its workers.
Estimated quantity is approximately 4,800,000 rounds of .357 Sig duty ammunition per year, totaling 24,000,000 over the life of the contract, states the solicitation, posted on FedBizOpps, which adds that the ammo is for use at DHS component locations nationwide.

If they start shooting at me, they better be good.
I seldom miss and with my S-W 629, good to 100 yards
Yep. I just had the pleasure of taking a class from the guy the Air Marshals chose to instruct them. They did an extensive testing program for specifying the caliber and came up with two recommendations: (1) .357 Sig, and (2) .45 ACP. Great, he sez, I'm gonna get to instruct on .45...oh, no. These guys had money. REAL money. When they carried in the crates of .357 Sig he said he was thinking Wow! I get to teach with that, and then, Wait a minute! I PAID for that!
They're good shots. They have to requalify every 21 days because they lose their edge after that. That sort of program costs a lot of time and money. Did I say a lot of money? When they need to train in a 747 they lower one from the ceiling. When they need a 707, same story. These guys have money. Your money.
There are too many cops killing citizens already. Just like there are too many dumb cops and too many fat cops. But hopefully, when the war starts and the adrenaline starts to rise the fat ones will drop dead of a heart attack.
Well I don't know about that but there is a goodly percentage of TSA "agents" that do because that's the end the cops were pointing at them when they were arrested.
I think the TSA will be in charge of making sure the cargo on the death trains is unarmed...
But I don’t see one of a dog...
It's an elongated .40 case necked down to fit a 9mm bullet. What I don't get is that the trajectory is flatter, and penetration greater. Air Marshals might not want too much penetration, what with people, a cockpit, and a bunch of plane around them.
There is a list of agencies at the link.
The war on drugs is really a WAR ON US Citizens!
The Govt is Arming BOTH SIDES, and selling the drugs on BOTH SIDES!
END PROHIBITION NOW! Deny the police state ANY RIGHT except in hostage sits, to kick in doors and murder people!
.357Sig isnt the least bit rare.
Which is good, because then when the TSA morons lose track of some rounds, they’ll know it’s theirs, and won’t blame some unwary traveler.
The next question is whether they’ll start wearing Kevlar vests to protect from stray rounds from their incompetent brethren?
Costs a lot in both ammo and the barrels it tears up in practice.
You would think TSA would be antigun since that’s what they do all day.

Your post appears to be BS.
Ain’t that the truth. Beware the 16 year old girl and 80 year old grandma “terrorists”.
Newbie :)
While a lot of ammo is being purchased for all these gov depts that don’t have any use for it, there is quite a bit of fraud in these ammo contracts. Remember about a year ago when we learned one ammo company didn’t exist. It was on FR but you’ll have to search. Thinking it was supposedly located in Arkansas. Just who and why are these tax dollars being laundered and which wallet is it being hidden? Likewise, I suspect this admin pocketed a lot of the stimulus dollars into personal foreign bank accounts.

My mistake, sorry. The BS two billion number was in the original posting by ThePatriotsFlag, right above your post. Apparently I hit the wrong button when posting my comments.
