As Common Core opponents increasingly gain ground, the initiative’s supporters are articulating more of the social engineering ideology that is at the heart of the nationalized standards.
Kimberly Morin of Manchester Political Buzz Examiner reports that teacher David Pook, who claims to have “helped write the standards,” said during a recent Common Core debate at St. Anselm’s College in Manchester, New Hampshire, that Common Core was necessary because of “white privilege.”

Pook said:
"The reason why I helped write the standards and the reason why I am here today is that as a white male in society, I’ve been given a lot of privilege that I didn’t earn. … I think it’s really important that all kids have an equal opportunity to learn how to read. I think I had decided advantages as a result of who I was, not because of any (inaudible).
And when I walk into places like Roberto Clemente High School on the west side of Chicago, I think it’s really important those kids learn how to read just as well as I had the opportunity to read. And in creating an equitable educational opportunity for all kids, I think this is actually the greatest civics lesson we could teach our kids."
Pook, who reportedly is a history teacher at the exclusive Derryfield School and who served as a pro-Common Core panelist at the debate, received jeers and laughter from the audience in response to his comments...

The thing is that all of these “teachers” know that Common Core makes it far HARDER, if not impossible, to learn - NOT easier.

So when you see one of these liberal “teachers” stand up and defend Common Core, remember that they know they are lying - and that they are lying specifically in order to DENY education to students, in the name of responsible teaching, in the name of better race relations, in the name of sexual equality, in the name of social justice and in the name of freedom - on purpose.

If kids in better situations are confused, I can guarantee it that inner-city kids are even more confused and disadvantaged than ever.
If the Common Core is so wonderful let the minorities have it in their schools. I would want my child to learn. Thank heavens my kids left school long before the nonsense-in-education movement began.
Maybe if these kid’s “parents”, quit drinking, drugging and thugging, they could learn to read? I can’t see how it’s a white person’s fault that they can’t read. That’s one freaking thing they will have to do for themselves.

I live in an area (on the northeast frontier of the Newark NJ welfare reservation) with plenty of poor whites who fled Newark when it fell to poor blacks; they’ve had no privilege from their whiteness, and any that get ahead worked damned hard for it (there is no “old money” here).

I thought affirmative action was very aggressive; nothing passive about it. The people that push this nonsense don’t want to admit that one of the best chances for success is an intact traditional family, while the best indicator of whether or not someone is incarcerated during their lifetime is the absence of a father...

Tell me more about white privilege.
Most of the teachers I know (including myself) HATE Commie Core. It relegates the teacher to a mere observer in the corner while the students sit in groups of 4, read their handout and answer their questions. It eliminates individual teaching styles and strengths. Doing the same thing the same way every day is B-O-R-I-N-G. I don’t see much opportunity to ask questions. Commie Core is just indoctrination to accepting things dictated by the State.
