As I mentioned earlier, I think this is a fine article. However, the bottom line is that we are the capitalists, but it’s the liberals who own the outlets.
We need something in each of the media outlets. We need a network, we need a cable, we need a search engine, we need a satellite, we need a major national paper, etc., etc.
As those who believe in ownership, property, and competition, we are not involved.
More than anything else, this tells me that WE are the little guys, the average Joes, the middle class, the stuff of neighborhood rallies, petitions, referenda, and all that which is supposed to make the powers that be listen. The “rich” we’re told, are all republicans, the party of rich big business. Only problem is that nobody told that to the rich and to the democrats who are the true party of the rich, the party of those who own everything and have the big bucks. And we carry their water.
Well, that doesn’t work. Ownership is apparently what works day in and day out in influencing the culture.
Yeah things are becoming decidedly feudal.
I like your thoughts on owning the various media, but in a country of 330 mil that’s not the sort of thing that any of us will be buying soon. That’s one more reason why I’m thinking that migration makes some sense: pick a small state, move people there and dominate. Its a lot easier to be a player in the Wyoming or NH media than it is on a national basis.
