I am of the opinion that conservatives should work for a Republican majority while also getting rid of the worst of the GOPe pretend conservatives. That list is pretty long, and the two goals are mutually exclusive. I therefore think we should pick two or three GOPe's that are in very conservative states, and work for their defeats. McConnell is one of those who should be defeated, as a reminder to the Roves of the party, and because his defeat would open up the leadership position to Ted Cruz or Mike Lee. They might not get it, but could at least force a compromise on someone a little more acceptable.
I realize that such a strategy makes it possible that Republicans will not get a majority in the Senate. If they were led by conservatives, and had a strategy to defeat Obamaa's attack on America, like Newt did, they could get 55-60. But they don't, and they might still get 51-55 seats. I am willing to take the risk that giving away seats in KY, SC and Texas might prevent the majority. But a majority led by McConnell is no better than one led by Harry Reid. McConnell as already shown that he will give Obama all he wants, if Obama just hints he might shut down the government. McConnell will steamroll the Senate into amnesty, will keep Obamacare intact, and will acquiesce to all of Obama's social agenda.
When the GOP is in charge, it grows the federal government. When the GOP is in the minority, it opposes growing the government. A determined minority of 41 in the Senate can block almost everything.
