Big Tea Party Bucks Come in for McDaniel in Mississippi

Two major conservative groups are dropping more than half a million dollars into ad buys in Mississippi, two weeks ahead of the June 3 election, to give state Sen. Chris McDaniel an extra boost over six-term incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) in the primary.

Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund is spending $400,000 on a new ad buy over television and radio and Citizens United Political Victory Fund is dropping $175,000 on a new television buy in the state, they both announced Wednesday.

“What happened to Thad Cochran?” the TPPCF television ad’s narrator asks viewers. “He’s voted to increase the national debt 24 times. That’s $58,000 per person. He said he opposes Obamacare, but he accepts a special exemption for himself and his staff. He even voted with Harry Reid to make amnesty for illegal immigrants possible. What happened to Thad Cochran? He’s forgotten our Mississippi values.”

That ad is set to be broadcast on television between now and election day June 3. The Tea Party group has also released a 60-second radio spot to run during that time too, according to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger report on the ads.

Citizens United Political Victory Fund’s television ad focuses on how long Cochran’s been in Washington. “Thad Cochran: Forty-one years in Washington,” a narrator says in that ad. “How are things working out for you? More spending… More debt… More government… Less freedom. To change Washington, let’s change the leaders we send to Washington. Chris McDaniel. A bold conservative leader who will raise Mississippi’s voice and join Senators like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee to balance the budget, stop Obamacare, and restore our God-given liberty. Vote Chris McDaniel.”

Nobody shifts gears unless they see the challenger as a clear and obvious improvement.

Exactly! And I think the Ads spoken of in this Article accomplish that for Chris.

Sorry, I don’t know what the heck I was thinking. Too complicated to explain but I was confused when I posted that. Got it mixed up with another race.
