First lady Michelle Obama is encouraging students to monitor their older relatives, friends and co-workers for any racially insensitive comments they might make, and to challenge those comments whenever theyre made.
The first lady spoke on Friday to graduating high school students in Topeka, Kansas, and in remarks released over the weekend, Obama said students need to police family and friends because federal laws can only go so far in stopping racism.
[O]ur laws may no longer separate us based on our skin color, but nothing in the Constitution says we have to eat together in the lunchroom, or live together in the same neighborhoods, she said. Theres no court case against believing in stereotypes or thinking that certain kinds of hateful jokes or comments are funny.
To address these limitations in the law, Obama asked students to take steps to drag my generation and your grandparents generation along with you in the fight against racism.
Maybe that starts simply in your own family, when grandpa tells that off-colored joke at Thanksgiving, or youve got an aunt [that] talks about those people, she said. Well, you can politely inform them that theyre talking about your friends.

Sounds a lot like Commie Cuba.
My biracial grand niece is in a primarily black all girls school. We certainly are not racist ,nor did we teach her to be but she calls everyone there_except her few friends_ MONKEYS! She says they have no manners or good upbringing. Calls it like she sees it. We are so proud of her!
See Something / Say Something
Thankfully, I don’t think anyone listens to Mooch’s speeches but the news media and most don’t listen to them.
It does not surprise me in any way.
Little Brownshirts fits perfectly with her hate of her country, the country which never made her feel "proud," in spite of her husbands failure to stand respectfully during the National Anthem after he became president!
If I mattered any more than she does, in the larger scheme of things, I would similarly encourage the entire black community to abandon their collective silence at the criminal and moral bankruptcy running rampant in the communities of "her people," and encourage monitoring of the blatant and extensive criminal element that festers there.
