is also how the big companies scam the
STEM job-market so that they can get more H21B visas; it goes like this:
- Post a job with ridiculous requirements, like 2+ years in-field experience for an entry-level job.
- When they can't hire anyone who's
qualified
they can use that as documentation that they need more visas. - They then bring people over on visas and work the crap out of them for low wages which, in turn,
- lowers the average salary for the whole field.

What would stop some of that would be a requirement that H1B’s have to have the same experience that was listed in the domestic ads as being necessary for Americans to be considered for the job. In other words...you can hire Swami from India as long as he has the same 2 year “in field experience” as what was being required for American job seekers!
