"Congregation" means something entirely different within Catholicism.

You are using it in the protestant manner. Which makes me think you're a protestant.
Congregation used as a general term is quite common in the south of India in churches.. now how do I know that, because I live there. Or, now are you going to tell me I failed in English next?
