Lt. Gov David Dewhurst spoke with Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson two weeks ago about previously unearthed court documents involving state Sen. Dan Patrick but said he advised against their dissemination back then for fear the move could backfire and damage his chances of winning reelection.
Dewhurst, in an interview at his Austin campaign headquarters on the first day of early voting ahead of the May 27 runoff, disclosed that Patterson originally reached out weeks ago to discuss access to court filings that could damage Patrick's run for lieutenant governor.
Those court documents were released to state media by Patterson on Thursday and Friday and show that Patrick, R-Houston, in the 1980s was treated for severe depression and had attempted suicide.
Since then, Dewhurst's camp has come under heavy fire, with Patrick's camp laying blame squarely on the incumbent lieutenant governor for the attack. Dewhurst's campaign has denied any involvement and sought to distance itself from the document release.
Dewhurst, who said he had no idea what was in the documents when contacted two weeks ago, said he advised strongly that a document dump could be pointed back at his campaign and "I don't want anything to do with it."
"Whatever you do could have some reflection on me," Dewhurst said he told Patterson at the time.

Plaid works too.

You are correct, that is a violation of Tx law.
Get a Ruger LCR.
Fits in a pocket and won’t drop your drawers.
You wont shoot “yer boy’s” off either but the long DA trigger hinders accuracy.
That means lots of bending, jumping, stretching, picking up kids, etc... and that would cause me to print. I spend quite a bit of time a public parks.
Dewhurst doesn't give a damn about my personal safety, or the safety of my grandchildren. He only wants to make his GOP-E country club buddies happy. And open carry makes them uncomfortable.
My grandkids would feel better if I could carry in the park like I carry at home, though. They have said so.

If he gets in my way, he's a problem, and needs to be retired back to his ranch.
I don't need to work around useless pricks like Dewhurst. He needs to go away.

Years ago, I lived in the Houston area and Dan Patrick was one of my favorites on the radio. I would vote for him in a heart beat.
For us guys, it's called a "murse" (i.e. Man-purse). Mine is a camera bag that can be strapped on my belt. Since I'm an avid photographer, it's doesn't attract more than passing attention.
You may want to check out a Walther PP or Walther PPK in .32ACP. It's slim and small. Very concealable without showing a silhouette. I carry mine in my Murse when I don't have the CZ 83 in it.
Dewhurst also screwed up in his run for KBH’s Senate seat. He’s an idiot.
That's the only responsible option. I'm not interested in playing the 'let's figure out a way around their stupid rules' game.
I prefer the 'let's figure out how to get rid of the stupid politician' game.

I was a fan of Dan until he jumped the shark against Cruz. The only reason I’m not active in this race is both candidates are establishment rinos. Do-worst does need to go, but I have little to no faith in Dan.
LOL! Nice rant, but I agree with you!
Dewhurst got his CLOCKED CLEANED in the March Primary here. Patterson, and one other clown, also ran, both with the intent of trying to keep Patrick from winning 50%, and they succeeded. But, even so, Dewhurst was NEVER going to have a a chance in the runoff...not a prayer.
I HONESTLY BELIEVE that what is going on now is an attempt by Dewhurst and the rest of the Republican Establishment to try to make Patrick unelectable in November, so that the Democrat can win.
That is who these people are - and why we MUST defeat them.
Dallas Morning News reccommended Dewhurst so I vote opposite of all their picks.

LOL! Good girl!
I wouldn't put something that vile past Dewhurst. He's pathetic.
