And a 7th round draft pick at that. What’s so historical? If his NFL career fizzles out, as expected, he has an “escape route” by hooking up with a gig on Oprah’s network. So much transparent BS. And to think I when I was kid I was made fun of for beleiving pro wrestling was real? SHEESH!

yesterday, I spent some time watching videos on YouTube of Michael Sam last year during SEC games. I wanted to find out weather he really should have been the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, because I understand that he had 11 sacks or so, but his number of tackles was very low overall. I wondered how a guy who played on the same team as Kony Ealy could be drafted so much lower than Ealy after Sam was named to such a high honor and Ealy was not. Let me tell you that the game tape does not explain why he was chosen for this honor. Go and look on youtube for the Missouri vs Florida and Missouri vs Vanderbilt videos - the ones that are specific to Michael Sam. You will see a football player who is slow, who is often blocked out of the play, and who occasionally gets lucky by having an offensive tackle simply release him into the quarterback. in that Vanderbilt game, I think he had three sacks, but you will see that other than the three sacks, he was a non factor.Vanderbilt Austin ran right through the whole that he was trying to fill, and no I’m not trying to make a pun when I say that. the Florida tape is much the same way.

watching all of that just made me wonder whether the entire thing has been a charade from the beginning. Was he giving that award so that his supporters would be able to make an argument that the SEC Defensive Player of the Year should be drafted?
