6:22 ET: The dream of a Triple Crown is still alive, after California Chrome held off Ride on Curlin to take Saturday's Preakness Stakes in an unofficial time of 1:54.84.
After an excellent start, Chrome was content in third for the majority of the race until a late charge at the 3/4 mile saw him forge ahead.
"It's an awesome feeling to be able to have a horse like California Chrome, he's just amazing," jockey Victor Espinoza said after the race. Espinoza improved his record to 6-0 on Chrome after holding off Social Inclusion and Ride on Curlin down the back stretch.
Asked how he felt Chrome would handle the heightened stakes at Belmont and Espinoza laughed it off. "I hope OK. You never know until you run, but he seems like he's going to be alright."...

Thank gawd the horse with the fag owners didn’t win. Then we’d have to see their faces on TV all week like Michael Sam.
Plus I like California Chrome. I saw him win the Derby, which was amazing considering they got him out of the “discount bin,” lol.
What you said!!
Fag owners shouldn't be able to adopt horses or children.
$8,000 horse. Now that’s “bang for your buck!”.
You have a point. :-)
Husband asked, who are the fag owners?
They got his father out of the discount bin and bred that colt!
Figures. I boxed CC, Kid Cruz and Social Inclusion...sigh.
California Chrome is the great-great-great grandson of Secretariat. I still can’t see footage of Secretariat taking the Belmont without getting choked up. I still get a catch in my throat seeing him so far ahead, just out for a little stroll.
I don’t remember the horse’s name but I saw an article on the “Internets” last night discussing it. The horse’s odds of winning were 20-1 so it was a real long shot....but stranger things have happened, lol.
I think he KNEW what he was doing that day and was laying the smack down.
Now I've got to go to Youtube and watch him run again.
Secretariat...his records for all three races still stand. One of the greatest athletes of the 20th century...he knew it, too!
K-thanks
Now 40+ years later, his great-great-great grandson is stepping up.
Lets see if the kid can make grandpa proud.
Also, Seattle Slew is his great-great grandfather.
Kid Cruz
:)Thanks.
Yeah anyone who names a horse “Social Inclusion” needs a second look. Maybe that is why some are think fags.
No California-bred horse had won the Derby since Decidedly in 1962. There was no way these West Coast cowboys were stealing out of Kentucky with the local breeders hardware and birthright. When Sherman and California Chrome hit Churchill Downs last week, the whispers started: The colt looked stiff in the mornings. The old man had pushed him too hard.LinkThere was no way an $8,000 mare (Love the Chase) and a $2,500 heretofore undistinguished stallion (Lucky Pulpit) could have produced a horse swift and gritty enough to hold off a blue-blooded herd for the entire length of the tracks foreboding stretch.
It's a quite a story.
