It’s oil. The price of oil went up and oil states boomed.
There are a lot of businesses here that have nothing to do with oil or gas. Look at the jobs within 25 miles of my home and see how many of them are related to petrochemicals:
Well, not really. The consumer, 66% of economic drive, has been slashed by rising gas costs, in TX at least.
So the oil boom is helping some..creating more money to spread around, but hurting households right now.
It was the implementation of the fracturing process. And boom, vast amounts oil are now coming to market from shale and oil bearing areas in the US. Keeping the price up is going to be the problem, one the Saudi’s faced before the boom.
Its oil. The price of oil went up and oil states boomed.

Disagree. It’s a State’s Governor and Legislature that takes care NOT to pass into law rules, taxes and regulations that suppress the free market and entrepreneurs. ...That doesn’t just happen in “oil states”. Florida is an example and I think is #2 in incoming businesses.
So, explain to me what the price of oil had to do with companies like Toyota USA moving its entire footprint in Kalifornja to Texas?
Not to say that oil had nothing to do with it but the number of companies and people fleeing the Golden Fleece State were making business and economic decisions to move brought on by the political climate.
