Have you ever given food to a homeless person? Well, if you do it again in the future it might be a criminal act depending on where you live. Right now, there are dozens of major U.S. cities that have already passed laws against feeding the homeless. As you will read about below, in some areas of the country you can actually be fined hundreds of dollars for just trying to give food to a hungry person. I know that sounds absolutely insane, but this is what America is turning into. Communities all over the country are attempting to "clean up the streets" by making it virtually illegal to either be homeless or to help those that are homeless. Instead of spending more money on programs to assist the homeless, local governments are bulldozing tent cities and giving homeless people one way bus tickets out of town. We are treating some of the most vulnerable members of our society like human garbage, and it is a national disgrace.
What does it say about our country when we can't even give a warm sandwich to a desperately hungry person that is sleeping on the streets? A retired couple down in Florida named Debbie and Chico Jimenez wanted to do something positive for their community during their retirement years, so they started feeding the homeless in Daytona Beach. But recently the police decided to crack down on their feeding program and slapped everyone involved with a $373 fine...
For the past year, the Jimenezes have set up shop every Wednesday on Manatee Island in Daytona Beach, Fla., where they feed hot dogs, chicken, pasta salad and other BBQ staples to about 100 homeless people, WFTV reported. Handing out meals is just one

It is crazy.
The next time we lecture about humanity to other countries, this can be used against us.
My idea was to create reservations for the truly homeless who aren’t insane. Let these reservations have the autonomy to create their own economies, let them govern themselves and just have enough official presence to keep the peace, investigate crimes and stuff.
I’d rather make the homeless work for their food. I see way too many of them bumming at highway off ramps and other places.
Then why are we giving welfare handouts to the poor? They abuse EBT cards meant for buying food. Rather than enforce laws to target the public feeding the poor, target Washington to straighten out welfare laws. Set up food kitchens to feed the poor, don't just hand out cash that gets abused. I'd rather the poor get food on the streets than get insane cash handouts that are abused.
I like it when the law accords with my natural inclinations.

You’ve got to understand that this is a job for professionals ... such as government bureaucracies that effectively enslave the client and only require a vote in exchange.
Drop that sandwich or we’ll shoot your dog.
So this is why all the homeless move to Seattle. We are very generous with our handouts.
People giving out charity takes the bread out of the mouths of the government dependent drones that are paid to feed the homeless, since they likely get money depending on how many mouths they feed. Same reason they encourage kids to sign up for the free meals at school - it adds to their bottom line. You tax dollars at work....
Feeding bums is a bad idea - it encourages them to keep on doing what they're doing: panhandling, drinking, urinating and defecating in public, and all the wonderful behavior that destroys neughborhoods and fosters crime.
Newsflash: 99.9% of bums are either insane or addicts or both.
The notion that there are sane, sober "homeless" folks just down on their luck is nonsense.
If you had a friend or a relative who lost his home and his job, would you put him up and help him get back on his feet? Of course you would.
Why do bums on the street have no friend or relative willing to do this? Because they have alienated everyone in their lives through their destructive behavior and they have moved on to strangers.
There are much better and smarter ways to help what a more conservative age called "the deserving poor."
It will fail, but that's what they want.
That which is not expressly permitted is otherwise forbidden.
Welcome to a brave new world ‘order’.
Problem: The vast majority of homeless that I’ve seen tend to be mentally ill, or hopelessly addicted to alcohol or drugs.
They need professional help, giving them stuff will usually just keep them alive, and giving them their own Australia to build won’t work either, because they are mostly not in full control of themselves. Unfortunately that kind of help is extremely expensive and lengthy, with no guarantee of success.

I agree totally. Also, there are some people who just don’t WANT to be forced to live inside. The poor receive free medical care; ETB cards for food; and their rent money. Why do they refuse to take it?
^^ lining up for food..
