I don't understand Boehner. At this point he seems unfit to be Speaker.

He should understand the problems with bringing this issue up at all; if he does his base will be dispirited and many will stay home (like 2006), that the dems will be forever empowered if this legislation passes, and that the party he supposedly represents will become a genuine minority as a result.

Not to mention, the bill really won't secure the border, continuing to deepen the problem, that this administration wouldn't enforce the law if it did, that as Sarah Palin says: Coming across the border as they do is ILLEGAL FOR GOOD REASON!

I hope these stories are wrong about his willingness to bring this up, but fear they are not.

Boehner’s district is one district over from mine. It is conservative. You’d think he’d do better, but he doesn’t. His district is automatic for a republican since the Civil War.

This kind of betrayal would be hard to recover from.

What it really says to me is that the brain-trust at GOP-E thinks that they can direct the thinking of the masses at the times that they want to do so.
