CHARLESTON, WV, May 15, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Running on an explicitly pro-life and pro-family platform, Saira Blair a 17-year-old high school student beat out two-time incumbent Larry Kump to represent the Republicans in the November race for the state House of Delegates. Blair, a strong Catholic said on her election signs: I am a Fiscal Conservative, Im pro-life. Im pro-marriage Im pro-family. Im pro-second Amendment. Im pro-business. Im pro-jobs Im pro West Virginia. These are my personal and political beliefs!
On another campaign sign she repeated those same stances adding, I will not compromise on these beliefs.

She has as much experience as POTUS.
And what have “EXPERIENCED” politicians done for us.....?
They have given us 17 trillion in gov. debt, budget deficits of over 1 trillion a year, a corrupt president, a corrupt congress, a corrupt supreme court, a top to bottom corrupt gov., and a corrupt foreign policy. “EXPERIENCED” politicians who lie, cheat, steal, and line their pockets with tax-payers money, people who consider themselves above the law. “EXPERIENCED politicians who make laws for us but exempt themselves and their cronies.
And you say not “EXPERIENCED” enough......! If this is the type of “EXPERIENCE” you are talking about, I say “BRING THIS YOUNG LADY ON”. A little inexperience would be “REFRESHING.....!
“I say BRING THIS YOUNG LADY ON. A little inexperience would be REFRESHING.....!”
Uh yeah; that’s what I was saying.
She will get a major life lesson this Fall when kleptocrats in the Democrat Party buy this election.
I think she knows more than you think...I read that her Dad is in politics
The incumbent that was defeated in a low-turnout Republican primary was a good conservative Republican, Delegate Larry Kump, whose views can be seen at

The teenager happens to be the daughter of another incumbent politician, hence automatic name recognition.
There is no story here except the novelty factor.

I’m sure the WV legislature is full of people who think a) a pregnant mother should be able to destroy her child, b) two men can marry, and c) we can get out of debt by getting into more debt.
Tell me how much worse you think a well-brought-up 17 year old can do than that?

In a message to her fellow youth she says: Why wait till your 40, 50 or 60 to realize that conservative principles are the pathway to prosperity and success.
Joan of Arc may have been a pawn for the power brokers of her time. She was controversial, and the descriptions of her are consistent with someone who has schizophrenia. The stories we hear about her are not exactly accurate.
There is a big difference between genius and wisdom. The only one you described that *might* have had some wisdom would have been Lafayette, and that would only be because he lived in a time when people had to mature a lot faster than they do these days.
I can’t think of any high school student or young 20 something who has any amount of wisdom, although some of them are quite smart.
Common sense and the desire to get things done can make up for a lack of experience. BTW, her father also was a state legislator and she is vying for the seat he held at one time. I’m sure he’s told her a lot about how things work up in the State House. I hope she wins.
Looks like she's taking Burke's (and your) advice.
The problem is that many of our representatives are permanently stuck in a state of immaturity. I don’t think this 17 year old is ready to lead, but she definitely has the potential when she gains more life experience. Many of these “representatives” do not, and never will, have the potential to lead, and do not have any life experience. The people who vote for them don’t consider the consequences of elections...
Legislators can’t all be leaders
Awesome PTL
