Segregation exists because blacks and Latinos purposely choose to live in areas where they will be in the majority. It doesn't matter how bad the crime rate is or that the schools there are just pit stops on the way to jail. Blacks and Latinos will choose 95%+ of the time to live near others of their race.

They do it to themselves everywhere. I work with several black guys, none of whom are ghetto. Decent, most of them are pretty hardworking and knowledgeable. They'll sit and eat lunch with us. But as soon as there's a couple of them working, they'll tend to all sit together, bunch up on work, and kind of segregate themselves. Nothing malevolent, it just happens. I don't know if they even do it on purpose or not.

I guess us whites do it too, I wouldn't choose to put my kids in a school that was 95% people from another race, even if it were a great school. The fear that my child would be mistreated because of them being different is just too stressful.
