Might be residual effect of Bush’s WOT in Africa. He had a program for arming and training indigenous fighters and offering back-up. Even if the US abandoned the back-up part, Israel potentially could fill in the gap. If ever a country needed help from a more developed one, it is Nigeria. EMA marches on.

What gets me is that some rich guy could hire a battalion of US combat veteran mercenaries who would go through Boko Haram like a class five tornado through a trailer park.
