Our county Republican Women’s Group has been hounding the TN Legislature for a few years to do all of those things, to no avail so far. I imagine other groups are, too, but for some reason they just won’t listen. It’s beyond aggravating.
All good questions and we never seem to be able to get answers.
Overall, that’s pretty much it in a nutshell, isn’t it?

Article in The Tennessean yesterday:
Mark Goins, the state’s election administrator, said he has recommended referring the six voters to Davidson County prosecutors.
FYI, this was a local primary so any voter who voted twice would be from the same party:
Voters in Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford and Sumner counties are selecting nominees for judges, court clerks, sheriffs and commissioners. Winners of the Republican and Democratic primaries will face off in local general elections in August.
Apparently some counties in Tennessee have two primaries. Seems a bit of a waste of resources and confusing to the public. The general election date refered to here is the primary date for the rest of the candidates
Thanks for the updates.
Thanks for the link, Steven.
Goins doesn’t need to recommend referring them to prosecutors. He needs to refer them. Period.
If anyone was turned away, it was probably because they didn’t have photo ID. No ID; no votee. And people have had plenty of time to get one since the law went into effect.
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. I do hope they prosecute those who voted more than once. It’s past time to deal with this mess everywhere it occurs.
Last week was the county primary elections in TN. The general election for these positions will be in Aug., when we also have our state primary elections .... state senators and representatives, governor, US senators and representatives.
Then we have the state general elections in Nov.
I don’t know why they split it up so much. I agree it seems to be a waste of resources.
They can always check the PAPER TRAIL.
...oh, never mind.
If someone votes once, they KNOW when they vote the second time in the same election. Who’s kidding who here?
Guess the Iraqis had it right with dipping the finger in the ink procedure.
I've been saying we need to do that in this country since I first heard how they do it over there.
That was the Afghans, not Iraqis.
