Just as in Idol, in the general election he’ll be runner up.

It was a tight Democratic primary, but the in the absence of Crisco, Aiken was able to squeak in.

Well ya of course he won..it helps when you kill off the competition
To: SeekAndFind
In American Idol, people could vote multiple times for Aiken. OTOH, in an election people will only be able to .... Never mind.
To: SeekAndFind
Shocking.
Clay gets the most votes and his opponent drops dead and Clay still wins the Primary?

RE: Just as in Idol, in the general election hell be runner up
LOL, this will be the THIRD TIME he gets to be runner-up.
Idol, celebrity Appprentice, and now North Carolina Congress...

I suspect Crisco died of a heart attack. He was old.

Beat a dead man by less than 400 votes? Wouldn’t that look great on a resume?

Look for a conservative to squeak on by in the general.

RE: Beat a dead man by less than 400 votes?
Clay Aiken actually beat him by that much when he was still alive.

The headline should read: “Dead Man Loses To Clay Aiken By Less Than 400 Votes”

Kinda smells, don’t it?

What a strange comment to make, that the dead guy was going to concede.
Why? The election was very close.
Makes me scratch my head why Aiken’s team would even bother to say something like this.

I agree I don’t know why Aiken would even bring the subject up. It was in the media
but still he should have left it alone.

Brad Crone, a political strategist and longtime friend of Criscos, said he had
just spoken to Crisco Monday morning. They were finalizing plans to announce on
Tuesday morning that he would concede the election to Clay Aiken.
