The principles that make me an American Black Conservative.
Turning a negative into a positive is always a liberating experience. It happened again last week when a caller to my radio show insisted that I was an "Uncle Tom". His assessment was for all of the usually ignorant reasons, against which I tried to use facts and logic to help him see the light.
Not surprisingly, facts and logic did not matter to him, because he had finally gotten on the show to set me straight and give me a piece of his demented mind. He failed to realize that I do not collect scraps from a shallow mind. He also did not realize that I got over being insulted by mindless name-calling decades ago, and that his attempted intimidation inspired me to write this commentary.
I followed up that futile exchange in the next short segment of the show with several reasons as to why he probably felt the way he did. That's when it occurred to me that those are the same reasons millions of people listen to my opinions and analysis, read my commentaries, watch me on TV and invite me to give keynote speeches all over the world.
I know who I am, and Whose I am!
For all of the reasons the caller thinks I am an "Uncle Tom", millions of people respect those reasons and many of them call me "Mister C".
These reasons are reminders for people who know me as Mister C:
I know that my perspectives on America represent the perspectives of millions of patriotic Americans of all colors. Some people will never get past the color of someone's skin to see their own failure, or the failure of someone else.
Name-calling to try and keep people from hearing the truth is as old as dirt. But its impact is becoming less and less, because more and more people are becoming smarter and smarter.
So to those people who want to call me and millions of other black conservatives ugly and nasty names, save your breath and listen ...
You just might learn something!
Most American blacks these days want someone to blame for their own personal failures and they’re blaming the wrong political party.
Mister C, not Mister BC. That’s a good thing.
Succinctly and forcefully stated. Thank you, Mister Cain.
I wish I believed that “more and more people were becoming smarter and smarter”. For the most part, I find this uplifting.
I would be thrilled if Mr. Cain bought the house next door to me. Good neighbors are so hard to find.
The man is right on.Thanks Mr.C.
Right on,Mr. Cain & know that you are not alone.
“...it occurred to me that those are the same reasons millions of people listen to my opinions and analysis, read my commentaries, watch me on TV and invite me to give keynote speeches all over the world.”
But, not Rutgers. Ignorance can be found in many people and places.
Mr.C. works for me,but I’d be proud to call him
Uncle Herman...
If I remember correctly Uncle Tom was a Christ like figure that sacrificed his life to save other slaves and in doing so shamed those that harmed him. It would seem to me the those that call other people Uncle Tom are the real slaves
Sexual harassment allegations from when he was at the National Restaurant Association. What they tried on Clarance Thomas. I would imagine that, for anybody who has been out in the world for any number of years, the Dems can find a woman who would be willing to make the claim.
“My dreams are bigger than our history.”
Powerfully stated!
Hysteria is the benchmark of useful idiots. The Progressive, liberal, communist movement is the foundation of evil. It poisons minds with fear and loathing of all that is good and holy. Overcome hysteria by calling it by its true name. Demons are overwhelmed when they are discovered, when their lies are exposed and they are laid bare. Call evil by its name and it will flee. Christ cast out demons by name. He cured those who were cursed by casting the curse into the pit out of which it crawled. Above all show no fear of evil. It only has the power to deceive. Fear, rather, the God who can cast you into the pit of darkness unending.
Correct. Tom is a monumental force for good in Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Those who disparage him are duped by the true forces of slavery.
You are correct, Uncle Tom was one of the good guys. Anybody who calls someone Uncle Tom in a disparaging way, is simply ignorant.
...making sure the Blacks stayed on the plantation, worked hard & never complain.
And does the very same today with regard to Blacks and the Democrat Plantation.
God help me but he looked like Dr. Zaius in that movie. Just the way he was moving, reacting to things DiCaprio was saying to him when he saw the black man ride up on the horse, and got the news he was staying in the main house.
Herman Cain is a great one. I’d sure like to see him run again - any office.
