It used to actually be difficult to join the armed forces. No diploma? Sorry. Criminal record of any kind? Nope. Major or even many minor medical conditions? Uh-uh. Known homosexual or pervert? Forget it. Belong to a gang or Nazi/KKK/terror group? No way! Not a high enough IQ? You’re not for us. Credit or debt problems? Probably not getting in. Colorblind? Many occupations not open to you.
