The big monkey wrench in this theory of course is the killing of Osama Bin Laden. How could they continue to believe they had control of Al Qeada after carrying out that assassination ?

The big monkey wrench in this theory of course is the killing of Osama Bin Laden. How could they continue to believe they had control of Al Qeada after carrying out that assassination ? Osama was also a burden to Al Qaeda; the U.S. could not justify disengaging from the War on Terror until the 9/11 mastermind was dead (or convincingly declared to be). Removing Bin Laden allowed the script to move in the direction of more "moderate" groups, such as the Muslim Brotherhood.
I think this writer has connected more than a few of the dots.

“Osama Bin Laden. How could they continue to believe they had control of Al Qeada after carrying out that assassination ? “
1. Killing OBL then replacing him with easier to control thugs?
2. Or to create a handy campaign slogan to fool the idiot voters that O was a tough leader.
