KGB has had many agents of influence on their payroll, mainly in Europe but you never know... O. doesn’t have to be voluntarily on their side, they could blackmail him...

We are as a whole. When people empower the left, they get the left. Many refuse to admit that simple and obvious truth. There is no left and left lite. there is only the left. And that means dictators.

It doesn’t matter if it is a Dem or a Republican or a Soviet or a Nazi. Leftist actions are leftist actions.

Why, thank you.

It's a blatant lie that I'm a Putin groupie but having you tell lies about me is wonderful.

Especially since people can look through your posts and see that you've never said a single word that doesn't echo the Kiev Coup propaganda to the letter.

have a nice day

Agreed, G.

It is standard operating procedure to get misinformation out.

I know O is a front for someone, becasue he is not really smart—just slick.

His meteoric rise through American politics is not due to ability but having the skids greased for him.

To me, he is the ultimate Manchurian Candidate.

Odd how you and your pals all know "Standard Operating Procedure". Could it be that you've pumped so hard your training and the little notebooks you refer to are showing?

Yes, that's it exactly. The same words, the same phrases, the same accusations thrown at anyone who disagrees with you, the propagandist to propagandist chatter, why, there's a pattern to you folks !!!.

That is indeed a sign of someone with an SOP to stick to and it fits you and your pals to a "T".

I know the EU is a weak bureaucratic system. But we cannot and should not forget that Putin is a SOVIET!!!!! He isn't a lesser Evil. He is a greater one. The EU is a wanna be Mini-USSR, but it will crumble under it's own weight just like the real thing did.

I believe you are right.

The EU is a weak decentralized tyranny.

Putin's Russia is becoming a strong centralized tyranny.

As times change the balance of power changes, and who ever is more powerful globally dominates our media.

The Soviets until the empire crumbled, the EU in the ninties, Islamists in the 2000s, and now it's back to Russia.

And you can see the media begin to turn. It's started over the last few weeks. AP seems to be leading the way.

CNN was crying about “double voting” by someone in one of the Donetsk voting locations.

Complaining about one guy double voting is hardly the press doing its job.

The entire election was a sham. Was that the only thing CNN complained about?

How soon forgotten the way the Miami Herald reported the Kerry and Bush elections and the issues and questions about how the votes were counted and the election conducted raised that went on and on for weeks afterwards.

Not one puttyhead lurking here raised any of those issues and just accepted the Kremlin version as reported here.

I have never seen such a rush by freepers to support the Obama regime’s position on anything!

This Ukraine mess (at least partly due to US meddling) has really brought out the knives around here.

I wish JimRob would weigh in with his thoughts, I find that his views are always well thought out regarding foreign affairs..

All I know for certain is that the US MSM lies more often than they tell the truth and that Obama has never been on the right side of any matter of foreign affairs....but perhaps this is a first for him?

IMO the east and south of Ukraine will fall into Russia’s control. There is no way to stop this. I doubt the people in those regions will be any worse off than they are now and would not be surprised if they fare much better. Those who cannot stomach Russia can walk to the west, those in the west who cannot stomach the leaders in Kiev can walk eastward...seems pretty simple to me. I wish we had a separate group of conservative states that we could migrate to here in the US. Choice is a very good thing.

Obama and his minions are going to keep pushing until the US dollar loses world reserve currency status. We will then be up $hit creek. Ukraine means nothing whatsoever to the vast majority of Americans...and this is how it should be...foreign entanglements are to be avoided. We will end up printing billions of new dollars to support Kiev all in an attempt to keep Obama from looking the fool.

So then the media covers for Obama and the media is starting to cover for Putin.

My prediction is our next president will be a Putin stooge, similar to Bill Clinton being an EU president and similar to Obama being an islamist president.

Hillary will be auditioning for the job.

I also am interested in what folks here think Putin’s endgame is. Is the absorption of parts of the Ukraine part of a bigger overall strategy he has in order to dominate other Slavic and ethnic Russian nations, or all of Europe?.

Courtesy of the Kremlin, Putin's 'State of the Union' after annexing Crimea in March (full speech):

VLADIMIR PUTIN: ...Back then, it was impossible to imagine that Ukraine and Russia may split up and become two separate states. However, this has happened.

Unfortunately, what seemed impossible became a reality. The USSR fell apart. Things developed so swiftly that few people realised how truly dramatic those events and their consequences would be...It was only when Crimea ended up as part of a different country that Russia realised that it was not simply robbed, it was plundered.

At the same time, we have to admit that by launching the sovereignty parade Russia itself aided in the collapse of the Soviet Union. And as this collapse was legalised, everyone forgot about Crimea and Sevastopol – the main base of the Black Sea Fleet. Millions of people went to bed in one country and awoke in different ones, overnight becoming ethnic minorities in former Union republics, while the Russian nation became one of the biggest, if not the biggest ethnic group in the world to be divided by borders.

I believe that the Europeans, first and foremost, the Germans, will also understand me. Let me remind you that in the course of political consultations on the unification of East and West Germany, at the expert, though very high level, some nations that were then and are now Germany’s allies did not support the idea of unification. Our nation, however, unequivocally supported the sincere, unstoppable desire of the Germans for national unity. I am confident that you have not forgotten this, and I expect that the citizens of Germany will also support the aspiration of the Russians, of historical Russia, to restore unity.

I believe him on this. His objective for now is to 'restore unity' for the Russian people and of 'historical Russia'. Essentially reclaiming the Greater Russia that he feels was lost when the USSR collapsed. Not a Communist anymore, but a Russian nationalist and revanchist with the knowledge and experiences of a KGB agent.

His audience in that speech loved it, spontaneously chanting Russia, giving him a standing ovation, and women bursting into tears with the official return of Crimea to Mother Russia. I have no doubt that this whole episode has vastly increased his popularity, which is apparently over 80% at the moment.

In the case of Ukraine, I think that he had already laid plans to seize parts of Ukraine, but he ended up putting those plans into motion when the pro-Russian President was deposed by the pro-EU faction. So he got the casus belli he wanted, and he quickly acted on it.

He almost certainly has plans for recapturing other parts of 'historical Russia', although he will probably wait until he thinks he has the best chance of success.

“All I know for certain is that the US MSM lies more often than they tell the truth and that Obama has never been on the right side of any matter of foreign affairs.”

We have reached the point where Obama’s continuous lying, and the mainstream media’s covering for it, have become an actual National Security Issue.

Our allies no longer trust us.
Or enemies are laughing in Obama’s face.

Nothing he says can be believed by anyone to be true, or meant. The only sure thing in US Policy under these radical nutjobs is that the biased Media drones will attack and destroy ANYONE that dares to point this out.

Oh, yeah - bubba ‘sold it to them’ for campaign money.

“I doubt the people in those regions will be any worse off than they are now and would not be surprised if they fare much better.”

Actually, salaries in Crimea are now 2.5x what they were under Ukraine. I doubt that fact was lost on the voters. Regardless of politics and ideology, people wanna live a good life. All of the resources, industry and money are in the East. The current Ukrainian govt would bleed those regions dry thru austerity and EU demanded taxes. That is why the EU wants the country to stay whole.

I have a hard time condemning the separatists that just wanna lead a good life.

Oh I’m sure that number had help. No question. But I cannot understand why people find it so hard to believe that a big chunk of those people WANT Russia.

Because there have been actual polls by multiple organizations all showing that the majority doesn't "want" Russia.

Do you REALLY think the people there, mostly Russians, want to be part of the Ukraine?

Russians were marching right next to ethnic Jews and Ukrainians in the Maidan. This racial tribalism is only being promoted by the Kremlin.
