Got it out of your system yet? I never said I have an “ire against the British”. I do have an ire against them constantly harking back to their supposed glory days of WW1 and WW2. You won’t like this, but a US combat vet of the Battle of the Bulge told me the British “didn’t know there was a war on”. His words. He’s dead now, so you don’t have to make multiple posts to him. I see PBS is showing a British show titled “Escape from Nazi Alcatraz”, about Colditz. I do not plan to watch it, but the title is off-putting enough for me.
Yeah, we didn’t know there was a war on, whilst the American cities of London, Glasgow, Coventry, Belfast etc were being bombed nightly by the luftwaffe, then again by the V rockets, and a million Americans were being killed, injured and made homeless whilst U-Boats tried to starve the US to death.....
All we British ask is to have our incredible and immense contribution and sacrifice to the two world wars respected and recognised, not ridiculed, by Americans.
That too much to ask?.
