I remember that. Glenn's testimony was the only part of the hearings which got media coverage. It was obviously a setup and everyone on the Dem side was in on it.
I just went back and reviewed it (1996 campaign finance scandal - Charlie Trie, Johnny Chung, John Huang, Maria Hsai, Riady family, Lippo Group et al. It was bad. Krauthammer said it was willfully impeded. Bob Woodward, Justice Dept all calling it a big scandal. But John Glenn stood toe-to-toe with Chairman Fred Thompson and the GOPe blinked and media tamped it down.
Dan Burton chaired the House investigation, and the media basically turned him into more of a crackpot than he was.
