Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to Speaker John Boehner this afternoon saying she would not be sending any Democrats to sit on the Benghazi select committee because it "isn't fair," or something. More from the Washington Examiner:
Democrats say they are concerned it will not allow their party to participate fairly in the investigation, which will involve subpoenas and viewing of classified materials related to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.
According to a Democratic leadership aide, Pelosi rejects a rule that will not prevent chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., from issuing unilateral subpoenas without consulting with Democrats. The rules would also allow Republicans to prevent Democrats from interviewing witnesses.
Democrats say they do not want a repeat of the investigation conducted by the House Oversight panel, headed by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., which they believed was highly politicized: “Regrettably, the proposal does not prevent the unacceptable and repeated abuses committed by Chairman Issa in any meaningful way, and we find it fundamentally unfair.”
When should we call the waaambulance? Like I wrote yesterday, get ready for more temper tantrums from Democrats on this issue. This is only the beginning. The good news is Republicans are moving forward without her, as they should.

Why should anyone think 50/50 is fair when the House, the representative of the people, is not 50/50?
by her logic, is there was one rat in the house then It wouldn’t be fair unless it was 1 GOP and 1 rat. Not to mention if the tables were turned there would be a whole new definition of “fair”.
U stole my thought! Namely, there is bound to be a Democrat Rep who could benefit from sitting on that committee in and during his/her re-election struggle. So, just side step the bitch and take an appointment direct from Gowdy.

All of these people will end up living very lonely lives. When Obama and Pelosi and Reid are out of office the lack of publicity will destroy them. And believe me, nobody will want to hear what they have to say.

We’ll have to make sure Gowdy’s hearing gets mega media time from FR and other friendly sites, if at all possible.
We can still do that before they make the net available for anyone but Conservatives.

I was just thinking of that,too. Maybe the Republicans should dust off whatever the rules were on that committee (I am sure they were fair, because the Democrats proposed them) and use them for this committee?
