I am sure they considered it just a friendly fire incident. Sorry for the innocent’s, of the current crime, demise.

In a similar situation years ago in Florida, a cop killer was surrounded by the police who shot him something like 65 times. The press asked the sheriff why they shot they guy that number of times and he responded: because that was all the bullets they had.

Both incidents tell me: don’t cross the police these days.

They shot the guy 87 times but he deserved it. He ambushed two cops and was hiding out in very thick brush waiting for a chance to kill more cops. He was armed and certainly not helpless.

Not a good parrallel with this case.

my dad was a Detroit mounted policeman, retired in 1950. As a teen the advice he gave me was........never argue with the man that has the gun.....circa: 1952

A cop killer was surrounded in Houston about 20 years ago in the parking lot of gunspoint mall.
The killer got out his car and leveled his weapon at a cop.
The cops present dropped the guy with a few shots. There were no stray bullets and no dogs were sent to heaven.

My how have times changed.
