On voting thus far.....from twitter comments....

*colleague in Mariupol reports 1,000 people showed up 2 vote at just one polling station for the referendum on Donestk self rule....

*People are casting their vote in front of everyone. Lots of YES

*also hear that there is nearly no presence of armed militia outside polling stations in Donetsk and Mariupol. Waiting 4 confirmation

*Early unofficial exit poll at Donestk voting station. The "Da"'s have it.

I’m just livid that our media presents the situation in Ukraine soo far from the truth it’s an embarrassment....other nation “leaders” are also getting upset with the US for how the media is reporting this. You know when the Atlantic Council and EU Parliment leaders are getting their pants in a knot something is amiss. Though they are careful to frame their frustration as they know the US is the one leading Kiev, and basically calling the Nato moves or non-moves.

And this is so hateful - our own government taking the side of butchers!!

Amazing how many people in Europe get it.

What is the reason for this administration taking the Nazi side? Because Putin is siding with Assad against the jihadis in Syria? Money somehow, IMF?

Thanks...wish I could get it all in one thread as we did then .....we ran them straight through and made it much better for determining what was going on.

BTW...Concerning the Tarters in Crimea. Sad to hear the Crimeans are considering that but the Tarters don’t want to be part of Russia, and in fact made a point of traveling to the US, at US expense, which of course was foolish of them to do in light of the fact Crimea had already gone to Russia. The US was using them for political points and as usual did them more harm by pitting them directly against not only Russia, but the Crimians. Basically shot their own foot off by leaning toward the US.

Unfortunately there after their leadership continued to oppose Russia in Crimea, and create further situations by their opposition rather than “adjust” to their situation.

Perhaps better they go to Kiev, Ukraine, for them, just as some in Crimea moved to Ukraine once Crimea had determined to go with Russia. It doesn’t appear they will be tolerated for long unless they can cease to rile their people and adjust to the fact they ARE now in Crimea, Russia.

One of their leaders is forbidden to be in Crimea, because he does create situations. They recently had a border issues with him and those who supported him. But he was still not allowed back in. I believe it was the same man who went to the US to meet with Obama and had all those photo-ops.

I don't think the US went into Ukraine with the intention of using the Right Sector, nor with an understanding of really who they were. You know this administration isn't real bright when it comes to International concerns.

Assad has nothing to do with the moves in Ukraine...it's a EU-Nato enlargement issue,... as well Western Ukraine has always attempted divisions in Ukraine, so going with the EU was their out, so to speak.

Western Ukraine is predominately the ‘Nest’ of Nazism in Ukraine...doesn't take much to rile them up, though like the Islamists in Egypt they lay low ‘until’..... So the protests were a perfect place for them to mount up and seize the opportunity...and they did. As I see it, now they have the positions they are going to do all they can to retain and consolidate their power, and go along with the US until the money flows. Thereafter remains to be seen.

Until then they do not want these referendums to take place....or the voting, which could take them out of the power they weld currently.

People forget Hitler started with a very small group of followers....and we saw what they brought on the world.

Regardless of how we see things in Ukraine...the citizens "believe" they are fighting against Nazism as long as the current Gov. holds the official positions that they do.

Unfortunately Obama and the rest are fast finding out they cannot control the Nazi element in their "hive". Thus we now see some in the EU Parliment calling for the "Right Sector' Solvada... to be labeled a "terrorist group". If that's successful and grows to an outcry in the EU....then the current leaders will get booted. And the US will come out of this with "clean hands".

But who knows how this will go...it's all getting very messy though.

Important to remember on referendum vote......this is a vote for “self determination”...NOT one to go with Ukraine or Russia.

“What is the reason for this administration taking the Nazi side? Because Putin is siding with Assad against the jihadis in Syria?”

You got it in one....
The Obama administration saw destabilizing Ukraine as a way to “get back” at Putin for embarrassing THE MESSIAH, and stopping The Holy Syria Attack.

Did you see Assad has control of HOMS....and very important...Also let the Syrian people return to gather their belongings, any that were left that is. Hundreds went in.

Assad said this would likely be a ten year stretch when it began to draw the Islamists from other countries....

...Tough people and prone to violence anyway.

Right, and maybe it would be a little easier to follow if islam wasn't in the mix as well.

RT has the voting life....doubt any others will have it. Inside the actual voting areas...wonder if this is because there are no outsiders monitoring the vote. I have to say the people seem very content this happening..nice to finally see some peace among them. http://rt.com/on-air/ukraine-referendum-sovereignty/
