Among the reasons why
Blazing Saddles is so funny and quotable is that Richard Pryor wrote much of the dialogue. And yes, some of the bits are juvenile and the humor is scatological, but only the overly-sensitive and overly serious cannot help from laughing out loud at so many of the film's gags.
