I have to say this Putin fellow is quite the tactician. He's running circles around the West's Security apparatus.

But I think he's making a strategic error in that eventually the West will wake up and he'll be over-extended.

Anyone notice the parallels to the US partition of Serbia?

PR genius.

I have been noting that since this began.

“But I think he’s making a strategic error in that eventually the West will wake up and he’ll be over-extended.”

That assumes “The West” isn’t led by a pompous idiot, that is trained as an agitator. There is NOTHING in Obama’s background, or the backgrounds of those around him, like John Fraud, that has prepared them for a situation like this.

The usual demonization and Alinsky tactics aren’t working against Putin, who could care less about being called a racist in the US Media.

We are in same boat. We have drawn down European forces for decades. To reestablish, we will have to abandon Iraq, Afghanistan, Asia, etc. None of which will go well.

Just for us to meet his new aircraft & ship maneuvers, it will cost us billions that we don’t have. That doesn’t even take into account Shinseki’s restructuring our military to fight small unarmored insurgent forces.

Also all of our equipment in Afghanistan must travel thru unsafe routes in Pakistan or Russian territory to get out.

Anyone think retiring the A-10s was a little hasty?
