Was an EMP Attack Just Tested on the United States?
American Thinker ^ | 05/08/2014 | Jason Kissner

An unsettling series of events arguably bearing on national security transpired last week that the MSM hastened to paper over.  On April 30, the FAA, as a consequence of “computer glitches”, halted outgoing flights at LAX as well as other airports including PHX, SFO, SJC, SLC, LAS, and SAN.

An NBC  report May 2 remarked:

A relic from the Cold War appears to have triggered a software glitch at a major air traffic control center in California Wednesday that led to delays and cancellations of hundreds of flights across the country, sources familiar with the incident told NBC News.

On Wednesday at about 2 p.m., according to sources, a U-2 spy plane, the same type of aircraft that flew high-altitude spy missions over Russia 50 years ago, passed through the airspace monitored by the L.A. Air Route Traffic Control Center in Palmdale, Calif. The L.A. Center handles landings and departures at the region’s major airports, including Los Angeles International (LAX), San Diego and Las Vegas.

On May 6, Mac Slavo, writing at SHTFplan (linked at Drudge), followed NBC’s reporting with:

The Air Force officially denied that it was a U-2 spy plane, claiming they found the glitch but provided no reason for what caused it:

It’s still not clear why the U-2 flew into the L.A. Center’s airspace, or why it didn’t give advance warning of the flight, as per usual. According to NBC News, the nearby Edwards Air Force Base and NASA’s Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center (located at Edwards) “have been known to host U-2s.”

At that point the governors will have to take over, and, what will DC do then?

That sounds interesting, you should start a thread on that scenario.

Governors, we always think only in terms of the feds. If we did have a total collapse, the feds would be mostly busy protecting us from outside threats, and protecting and operating military bases and critical installations, moving and/or protecting troops and bases scattered around the world, and maintaining some naval operations foreign trouble spots like Korea and so on, and the governors and National Guard would be doing most of the internal.

The feds would be totally over stretched and facing logistic and transportation nightmares.

My thinking says the feral welfare class is going to come back to bite the liberal fascists. If you do the math, you start realizing the Feds are in a paradox and have few options. If it falls apart, plunging tax revenue means they have to choose between welfare and troops. It becomes automatic at that point - little or no welfare, large liberal cities like NY, Chicago, LA, Boston and Miami burn, troops shift there in disproportionate numbers, small states are on their own.

It will ultimately be up to those states to keep their own order. At some point I see governors banding together and telling DC to take a hike. I could even see an constitutional convention to break away and reform the country into a smaller version, minus the dead weight.

They contain batteries, batteries have corrosive material. If you have a
Microcenter near your city, that would be your best bet. Or just order from
a popular online computer store. Newegg, etc. I would not buy something of this
caliber from Amazon or Ebay. Trust me on that.

I’d be more worried about a container ship floating into San Francisco bay with a load of Cobalt 60 and high explosives.

There are some here who would not mourn the loss of San Francisco.

Russian Strategic Bombers On West Coast: Did They Take Down LAX Traffic Control Systems?

I think the idea in the linked article is quite plausible, if the timing was right.

I've never had good luck with high end electronics on Amazon.
If your paying for new that's what you should receive. I do shop Amazon though,
just not for anything electronic for computing. I use Newegg and Microcenter.
