An NBC report May 2 remarked:
A relic from the Cold War appears to have triggered a software glitch at a major air traffic control center in California Wednesday that led to delays and cancellations of hundreds of flights across the country, sources familiar with the incident told NBC News.
On Wednesday at about 2 p.m., according to sources, a U-2 spy plane, the same type of aircraft that flew high-altitude spy missions over Russia 50 years ago, passed through the airspace monitored by the L.A. Air Route Traffic Control Center in Palmdale, Calif. The L.A. Center handles landings and departures at the region’s major airports, including Los Angeles International (LAX), San Diego and Las Vegas.
On May 6, Mac Slavo, writing at SHTFplan (linked at Drudge), followed NBC’s reporting with:
The Air Force officially denied that it was a U-2 spy plane, claiming they found the glitch but provided no reason for what caused it:
It’s still not clear why the U-2 flew into the L.A. Center’s airspace, or why it didn’t give advance warning of the flight, as per usual. According to NBC News, the nearby Edwards Air Force Base and NASA’s Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center (located at Edwards) “have been known to host U-2s.”

Just getting ready for martial law.
“Unlike the nuclear-trigger Super EMP Weapons capable of taking down the electrical infrastructure of an entire country if detonated about 200 miles above the earths surface, non-nuclear EMP technology is a line-of-sight weapon that can be directed at a specific city, building or computer system.”
I was previously completely unaware of the capability of such weapons,
will they work on the golf course??
He wouldn't and neither would the MSM. If it doesn't fit their narrative, it's not fit to print.
Has our government already attempted an EMP attack on the south east?

If it was an EMP attack, the effect would have been more widespread. This is just speculation.
Yep. An external enemy is a necessary distraction from domestic failure and oppression.
I have it on good authority from several FReepers that there is NO such thing as EMP it just something that was made up to scare us.
Agree with this assessment. My guess is that the reasons that the U-2s are still around is that a) they still do a great job, and b) even though they are quite old they are probably packed with the best jamming equipment around, which makes them difficult to track. Another guess is that by this time they've developed some sort of pod or internal jammer that can target specific items and for whatever reason it was on and you saw the effects. It does, however, lead you to believe that if they wanted to they could easily take down a country's power grid, communications, etc.
don’t know what else to do but bookmark
I’m in deep SE Texas.
There have been at least 2 power surges here within the last couple of weeks also.
The first one was on April 22 or 23. That one screwed up my computer.
The other one on April 30 blew the breakers on the power lines and blew out the power.
I knew it was a power surge because my computer notified me of a power surge and then the power went off.
That was in the morning here, about 9am central IIRC.
“triggered a software glitch”
Written by someone who has no idea what software is.
If it was an EMP test I would assume it would take out a lot more than just the ATC system at LAX. It would also take out everything in the area.
Putin just checking our ‘flexibility’.
Mine went out at the same times as well, a little north of Houston.
Given the recent dispute between the United States and Russia regarding overflights of their respective countries, it would not surprise me in the least if the airport outages were caused by a foreign spy plane.
Uh...NO!
EMPs are not that narrowly targeted.
