Very much like the parents who allowed their kids to go to Michael Jackson’s Neverland ranch and actually sleep in Jackson’s bed. Either they naively believed nothing would happen to their children, or (more likely) they’re so star-struck themselves, they simply don’t care what happens to their children so long as they (the parents) get to rub elbows with celebrities.

You are absolutely correct. The parents of these children are complacent with the depravity. They are so enthralled by celebrity worship and greed, they allow their children to be debased. This of course does not excuse the lowlifes that abuse the children.
