Just received a call from one of his friends in Florida. Gonzo (Barry Lee) has passed away, He was a long term member of FR and was proud to be with us at the March for Justice in 1998. He was a veteran and a patriot and has always been a loyal friend and will be greatly missed.
Prayers for his family and loved ones.
God bless.
I believe that pic [#98] was taken at Disney's Lake Buena Vista... I showed up late, so my mug is missing... :-( But my heart is always with my FReeper co-conspirators. Let us pray that the replacements are prepared to pick up the standard and fight on. {sigh}
How sad to lose these two legendary FReepers. Our heartfelt prayers go out to the families and friends of Gonzo and JeanS.

Pinging more FReepers to this thread...
RIP.
Prayers up for Gonzo and JeanS families and FRiends.
They will be missed.

God takes great men.
May God bless him as he welcomes him home after a job well done.
RIP...
You will be missed.
Oh dear! I’m sorry to hear that. He will be missed.
Oh, I am so sorry to read this and send prayers for his wife. He had a great sense of humor and I remember, years ago, when some of us first discovered a new car - the Chevy-789 - and he fell in love with it. Kept the picture on his Profile page.

God rest your soul Gonzo.
More sad news, I did not know about abigail2!!
Many years ago she asked me to help her “make” a Profile page. I set up the HTML for her favorite poem and sent her the two ‘Norbert’ images.
It always brought a smile to my face because she never got the two images centered and told me it didn’t matter and she was happy as it was.
Bless your soul abigail2.
So much sad news at Fr :-(
My thoughts and prayers are with you all
Didn’t he have an Avanti?
Just now saw this.
He will indeed be missed. RIP
I don’t recall but think he shows a couple of his cars on his profile page. Can’t remember if he had a blog or what but remember seeing more car pictures that he had posted.
Lol, yea, I know that!
Dave, isn’t this the Anti-Clinton place outside Daytona?
A sad day. Bary was a one of a kind.
Sometime, at one of our Freeps in 1998, he said he would support me to run against Robert Wexler, who was running unopposed.
He actually, on the spot, wrote out a check for $20,000, asking me to run. I remember telling him that I am not a politician and that this would be a waste of his money!
He said: “There is more where this comes from and it is not a waste of money!”. With that look that he could give.
Anyhow, Wexler ran unopposed. I remember we FReeped his office in Boca Raton on Military Trail.
Do you remember the prayer circle we had at Bary/Mata Hara’s house the night of Bush’s contested election.
I swear that won it that night right there! Of course, it took God 36 days to recognize what the Florida Freepers did that night at his house!
