I think it all collapses if Gowdy and the others come across like they're on a witch hunt. If they don't, and come across as reasonable if determined, then even the most creative editing by the MSM won't be able to support whatever hysteria the Dems can cook up.

The Dems are going to rue not being involved in this. Basic rule of politics is that you don't give the other side a free and unencumbered, unchallenged platform. The Dems NEED to be there in order to throw up roadblocks, obfuscate, etc.

Think of it this way - one of the BIGGEST mistakes the Soviet Union ever made on the world stage was boycotting the UN Security Council meeting where the vote was taken to intervene in the Korean War. The Dems could very well be going down the same path ...
